Of course, it won’t help you on Leopard (yet), but it’s always an option. says: Well, I just don’t think I should have to get a third-party product to get this to work right, especially one that is effectively an unsupported hack. I try to keep those to a minimum. says: Hi Pierre, I just came across your blog. I’m not sure if you knew this (many people I talk to don’t), but you can easily change the shortcut for any menu item in any Mac application. Just go to the Keyboard and Mouse System Preferences, and select Keyboard Shortcuts.
I've got an old G4 Mac mini that I don't use anymore and I need a backup solution for my MacBook. Would it be possible to have the Mac mini always enter target disk mode so that I could use it like an external hard drive?
Click the “+” button and select the application (e.g. Safari.app), or “All Applications”. Type in the name of the menu item you want to change the shortcut for (e.g. “Select Previous Tab” as it shows up in Safari’s Window menu). Then just enter a shortcut – I set mine to Cmd-, so it’s the same as Firefox. Repeat for “Select Next Tab”. Also, I also set “Google Search” to Cmd-K to copy Firefox so I’m not confused when switching between apps.
says: Yes, I am aware that new shortcuts can be defined with the preference pane. However, for one thing it does not address the underlying issue of poor documentation/support for keyboard shortcuts on non-US keyboards. Apple shouldn’t have chosen these shortcuts by default knowing that they have another function as text selection shortcuts. As well, the major problem with the shortcuts defined in the preference pane is the lack of transparency regarding where these customization are stored and how they can be saved/restored. Explaindio vs video maker fx for mac.
I frequently (following system updates/upgrades) see my shortcuts disappear from the list in the preference pane, even though they still appear to work in the corresponding application (for application-specific shortcuts). So where are they stored now? It’s all very fuzzy and makes it frustrating to try and keep keyboard shortcut customizations under control.
Always Use Csa For Mac Pro
Always Use Csa For Machine
(And you cannot assign shortcuts to commands that are not menu items either.) Leave a Reply Comments are closed.
