Can't Open Wav Audio File In Elan 5.2 For Mac
These are screens from EMC 7.5 (updated version) so I'm not sure if they are the same in earlier versions of EMC 7. However, once you open a wav file in Sound Editor-clicking on EDIT and selecting SELECT ALL, then clicking on FILE, there is no selection for 'SAVE SELECTION', only SAVE PROJECT or SAVE PROJECT AS. I have the same problem except I am not able to open the WAV file in Sound Editor. My WAV files are coming from my Pentax digital camera and its ACDSee Software after I upload all the pics and sound files. Can anyone help? Your problem is quite different from dmargolis' problem then. What happens when you try to open these files in Sound Editor?
It can happen to the best of us, we have an audio file and it refuses to open, this can often be due to corrupted file information in the header. So when I recently found myself with a WAV file on my Mac that would not open I decided to try a few things, this is how I got the WAV file to open and back into Pro Tools.
- Right-Click on the desired WAV file and select the 'Open With' option to reveal the programs currently installed on the Macbook capable of playing the WAV file.
- Jul 27, 2018 - I know that someone else has had this problem, but I can't find any fix. I've just downloaded Elan 5.2 for Mac and tried to open a WAV audio file.
Can you play them in Windows Media Player or any other program which plays WAV files? Brendon I am at work now and cannot double check, but I know for sure I can play these audio files on my computer somehow (whether it's through Windows Media Player or through the Pentax ACDSee software). The message I'm getting from Sound Editor says something like 'The following file cannot be opened or edited.' I had the Syntrillium 'Cool Edit' software installed on my computer (that a friend gave me). Since then it crashed and he can't lend it to me again. Somehow I think all Cool Edit did was convert the mono 16 or something to a different bit number.

Do you think Roxio can do something similar? Thanks again.
